An interesting story in todays newspapers – an understandably irate Arsene Wenger is considering demoting club captain William Gallas after the player admitted that a fight broke out during the half-time break in the 4-4 draw with local rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Gallas apparently refused to name one Arsenal player who it seems is constantly arguing with teammates and who started a fight with Theo Wallcott in the dressing room against Spurs. Gallas did however name that this player was 6 years younger then him – and some clever detective work leads to either Emmanuel Eboue, Bacary Sagna, and the tempermental Robin Van Persie. The Sun believes that it was RVP who fought with Theo on the day of the Spurs match.
It is believed that Gael Clichy and Cesc Fabregas are the next likely players to be named captain of the team, although I personally don’t feel that either of these would make good captains (although anyone is surely going to be better then Gallas). I feel that Arsenal lack a tough-tackling central midfielder, someone who can take hold of certain games and help to rally the team too – just like the role Patrick Vieira used to have.
