Obviously Juande Ramos’ stint at Tottenham Hotspur hasn’t done his reputation any damage after being given one of the biggest managerial jobs in the world (and the most pressured) as the new manager of Spanish side Real Madrid.

Juande Ramos, New Real Madrid Manager

Although Ramos did bring silverware to the North London club thanks to the Carling Cup triumph, he didn’t do much else apart from spending large sums of money and failing to meet expectations in the current Premier League season. He was sacked and has been replaced by Redknapp who seems to have completely turned things around (using the same set of players as Ramos had brought in and had been using too).

Meanwhile Bernd Schuster resigned as Real Madrid manager after being beaten 4-3 at home by Sevilla. He went on to state in a press conference that on current form his side has “no chance” of beating Barcelona in the derby match this Saturday. This didn’t go down well with fans, some of whom staged a protest in front of the Real Madrid president.

Ramos will have until the end of the season to turn things around at the club – and has been given the massive task of winning either La Liga or the Champions League – or else he will have to find a new job. Real Madrid have now had 5 different managers in as many years, and currently languish 5th place in La Liga.
