Florentino Perez has returned to Madrid as President and has immediately set about making up with United and Alex Ferguson.

Known for publicly courting Cristiano Ronaldo amongst others, Perez insists he does not want to make enemies with United. Perez told The Times;

“If I had to choose between the friendship with United and Ronaldo I would choose the friendship.”

Ah, how touching…if we could believe it. Perez says he will be talking to Fergie and Chief Executive Martin Gill in an effort to build some bridges, though something tells me Fergie ain’t gonna break short his holiday in the sun to take that phone call. Remember Ferguson’s comments back in December, when he was asked if there was a secret agreement with Madrid to sell Ronaldo this summer;

“Do you think I would enter into contact with that mob? No chance. I would not sell them a virus.”

Go on Fergie, tell us how you really feel…..

United complained to FIFA last summer stating they felt Real’s approach was illegal, but that was rejected by the governing body. Real were however warned against inducing the player to breach his contract in the future. Umm…like that will make a difference.

The Ronaldo-Madrid saga is bound to run throughout the summer; the arrogance of Madrid (which is why Ronaldo would fit in nicely…) against the ego of United. (mmm..he also fits in there too though..tough call)

One thing’s for sure, you wouldn’t bet against Fergie coming out on top, would you?
