Wow, it’s semi final time already and i thought it would be good to reflect back on how both these teams got here, before we go into any details about the match lets take a look at how both Germany & Turkey got to the semi finals:

Well it all started with an opening game against poland, Germany came out the victors with a convincing 2-0 victory. The next game was to prove tricky for Germany as they were beaten by eventual group winners Croatia 2-1. The final group game for Germany was against Austria and Germany were lucky to get through as the scrapped to a 1-0 win.
Quarter Finals
Germany then faced off against Portugal in the quarter finals. This was a thrilling game, Portugal were favourites to win due to Germany lacking the last two games but they prooved the critics wrong and came out the victors in a smashing 3-2 win
Turkey:
Group Stages:
Turkey are unlikely semi finalists but they managed to progress this far despite a nightmare opening game against Portugal, in which they were defeated 2-0. Turkey’s next game was against hosts Switzerland which both teams needed to win if they wished to progress, the weather was terrible in the first half and the Swiss took the lead but the second half came and Turkey overturned the 1 goal deficit to win 2-1. The final group game for Turkey was against an aging Czech side, and it was the game in which we seen Turkey’s desire to progress they came from 2-0 down to win it 3-2.
Quarter Finals
Turkey then had to face Croatia in the Quarter finals, Croatia went into the game as favourites after topping their group and beating Germany on their way. But all was not to be for Slaven Bilic’s men, the game was 0-0 after 90 minutes and it went to extra time with Croatia scoring 90 seconds from the end Turkey still managed to equalise and win 3-2 in penalities.

Germany are still expected to play Torsten Frings despite suffering from a fractured rib, he was back in training on monday after misssing the quarter final against Portugal. Turkey are having a whole host of problems after suspensions & injuries they may only have 13 outfield players, this will seriously limit options for coach Terim Faith.
Who will win it
Turkey have won 2 & drawn one in the last three meetings between these teams, but the odds are surely stacked against them tonight with a number of key players missing.
My Prediction
3-1 Germany
With a very weakened side i dont think we will see any comeback antics from Turkey this time around, Germany go onto the final.
