Venue : Stamford Bridge, London

This English Premier League fixture between Chelsea and Bolton Wanderers will take place in Stamford Bridge on Tuesday 13th April 2010, kick-off set for 20:00 GMT. Not long ago Jose Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge and knocked his former side out of the Champions League. After that many pundits wrote off Chelsea’s chances of rescuing any silverware from this season. A 1-1 draw at Chelsea for the EPL competition seemed to confirm those suspicions. However since then Carlo Ancelotti has manged to take his squad to the top of the league playing very well in the process.

The Blues have scored 17 goals in four games, including a 2-1 win over title challengers Manchester United at Old Trafford and now they are firmly in the driving seat for Premier League glory. With United’s 0-0 draw at Blackburn that Chelsea’s draw at Ewood Park seems not such a bad result. The Blues can go four points clear with a win against Bolton on Tuesday’s match. Chelsea have only lost once at home all season and have recorded the staggering number of 52 goals, which is more than the total of goals scored by Bolton durting this campaign.
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti will include Michael Ballack and Salomon Kalou in place of Deco and Joe Cole. Nicolas Anelka could come in replacing striker Didier Drogba.

Bolton reports that Mark Davies and Ricardo Gardner will return to the squad after injury. Gardner is eager to be part of the side and has not played for a month.

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has all but laughed off Sir Alex Ferguson’s suggestion that Chelsea are in for an easy ride when they host Wanderers on Tuesday. United only drew with Blackburn on Sunday which means a Chelsea victory will put them ahead by four points at the top of the EPL table with just four games left. Coyle did say that Ferguson could be trying to put a bit more of pressure on Chelsea.

Coyle added that he believed that his side can get something from the game if they concentrate on what they can do and not on what anyone else says. Ferguson’s comments have been demed to be another example of old mind games from the Manchester United boss. Current Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti also brushed aside the suggestions that his team would be having an easy game against a Bolton side battling to avoid relegation.

My prediction: 3-1
