Barcelona Crowned European Champions… Again…

barcelona european champions

Man United put up a brave performance last night against the Spanish champions Barcelona and yet this wasn’t enough as they ended up being comprehensively beaten 3-1 with goals from Pedro, Messi and Villa.

Rooney had equalised in the first half to cancel out Pedro’s initial goal but in the second half of the game there was only ever one side in it, with strong memories of the final 2 years ago where Barcelona were again too strong.

Manchester United really didn’t look themselves during the game, only showing glimpses in the first few minutes and then for the Rooney goal. Barcelona could even afford to be without Puyol in central defence with Mascherano playing out of position, and yet he was rarely tested in the game.

Clearly the best side won last night, and it looks as if this Barcelona top will dominate football for the next few years, as will the Spanish international team.

What I’d love to know is, what does Sir Alex Ferguson say to his players at the end of the match? Unlucky guys, Barcelona could be the best team ever so theres no shame in losing? Must be so frustrating knowing that theres a team that is pretty much unbeatable… but might have been more frustrating to lose to a team that you know you could’ve won against if you’d played a bit better.

Without adopting Barcelona’s philosophy I’m not sure how any team could compete with them…
