Manchester United v.s Chelsea – Community Shield – Video

footy news blog

It feels so good to get the Barclays Premier League going again, i feel so rejuvanated seeing todays’ curtain raiser between Man Utd and Chelsea and i just can’t wait for next week.

Chelsea didn’t have a good day today as they prepared to face the Champions with a makeshift squad thanks to injuries and things got worst when John Terry injured himself before the kickoff and may be out for a month.Manchester United on the other hand were pretty much injury free except for Saha and Gary Neville, and that showed as they began the brighter side and scored the first goal thanks to a beautiful placemt by Ryan Giggs, scoring his first ever goal at Wembley, it’s almost insane to think that he has never scored at Wembley up till today.

Chelsea pushed on and were duly rewarded when new boy Malouda scored just before the half time whistle, but in the process he injured himself, yet another injury worry for Mourinho before next week’s game against Birmingham City.

The second half was pretty much the same with both managers making changes to their side during the second half and i must say that Nani did indeed looked a little lost in the game but than again you can’t realy blame him since it’s his first game in a whole new enviroment.

Considering what i saw today i think Chelsea are pretty stretch and might face some problems in their opening fixtures unless the likes of Drogba,Ballack,Sheva,Robben,Terry can recover soon.United on the other hand seem pretty fit as a unit and the addition of Tevez can only boost the team even more, it’s also interesting to see if Heinze does stay on and Silvestre has handed in a transfer request, i’m sure Sir Alex would want to keep heinze even more now.

Anywayz back to the game, it ended 1-1 after 90 minutes and Edwin Van Der Sar became a hero by saving ALL 3 of Chelsea’s spotkicks (Pizarro, Lampard, Wright-Phillips) while United scored all there, watch the goals in the video below:
