Throwback: Fergie scared by balloon

Sir Alex Ferguson was left red faced when a balloon, popped by assistant manager Mike Phelan, scared him out of his wits.

The pair, along with other members of staff and substitutes were sitting on the bench in a visit to Stamford Bridge when the incident happened.

This show of fear from Ferguson gave much amusement to the fellow back room staff but not Fergie, who proceeded to swear at his assistant manager.

You can guarantee this is something the now retired manager would not like to be reminded of.

Well hard luck Fergie!
