A pair of Sergio Aguero goals sent West Ham on their way on Saturday night as Manchester City earned all 3 points at Upton Park by way of a 3-1 victory. Sam Allardyce’s West Ham side were never truly a threat to the Citizens on the night, as they fell behind after just 16 minutes to Aguero’s first, a well placed finish past an onrushing Jussi Jääskeläinen.
Aguero went on to complete his brace 6 minutes after the halftime break by way of a rising header past an outstretched Jussi Jääskeläinen this time around and Manchester City appeared to be home and dry. The Hammers still provided max effort in the quest to get back in the game though and they were rewarded with a very well taken goal from Ricardo Vaz Te as the Portuguese striker completed a somewhat acrobatic overhead kick after some poor offside traps by the City backline to bring West Ham within 1 on 58 minutes. The game teetered on the edge for a little while but was finally put to be for good 10 minutes from time with David Silva controlling and smashing home to end all hope for the Hammers and give City the vital 3 points.
