Tottenham Hotspur have made the decision to sack Andre Villa-Boas after a string of unimpressive results in the Premier League, culminating in their 5-0 drubbing by an on-fire Liverpool side on Sunday.
Many predicted that the young Portuguese boss would soon be for the chop following some very poor performances at White Hart Lane, and so today it doesn’t come as much surprise to hear the news from North London.
A statement from the club read:
“The club can announce that agreement has been reached with head coach Andre Villas-Boas for the termination of his services,” said a Spurs statement.
“The decision was by mutual consent and in the interests of all parties.”
Some of the names that have been linked to the post include former England gaffer Fabio Capello, former Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo, Swansea’s boss Michael Laudrup as well as Franco Baldini, Spurs’ current technical director.
