Bale Leads Wales to Victory Over Moldova

It was the Gareth Bale show once again on Monday night as he led his home nation of Wales to a 4-0 win over Moldova. The Welshman scored two goals and provided one assist as he ran circles around the defense.

How it Happened

The opening goal of the match came in the 38th minute when Bale whipped in a cross that found the head of Sam Vokes. It was a routine finish for the Burnley striker who recorded his eighth international goal for Wales.

Just before halftime Joe Allen scored his first ever international goal to double the advantage. The Moldovan goalkeeper Illie Cebanu punched away a corner that fell right in the path of Allen who fired home a powerful shot.

In the second half it was Bale that tallied the remaining two goals. His first came in the 50th minute when a horrendous back pass was intercepted by him and dispatched past the keeper. Right before the final whistle he converted a penalty to complete the brace and put a stamp on Wales’s win in Cardiff.
