Real Sociedad v Barcelona - Copa del Rey: Semi Final Second Leg

Barcelona Book Real Madrid Date In Copa Del Rey Final

Barcelona will meet Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey final, after holding Real Sociedad last night to a 1-1 draw on the night, and ensuring a 3-1 aggregate win.

Read Madrid had previously confirmed their spot in the cup final on Tuesday night, with a 2-0 away win at rivals Athletico Madrid (and 5-0 aggregate win) thanks to two penalties in the first 20 minutes, dispatched confidently by Cristiano Ronaldo (who else).

Barcelona knew what they had to do, and struck just before the half hour mark, with Lionel Messi rediscovering his form since his injury lay off, fired a powerful shot from 25 yards past Sociedad keeper Zubikarai.

And Barcelona would have thought that was about that, but Sociedad had other plans and made sure Barcelona goalkeeper Pinto left without a clean sheet when striker Antoine Griezmann equalised with a cool finish from the edge of the Barcelona penalty area.

Despite the late drama, Barcelona were in no doubt to hold on and set up an all star El Classico final, set to be held on the 19th April.
