Last night after the Manchester United match I met somebody who claimed to be a massive Liverpool fan but when a few of us started talking about what happened earlier in the Premier League he also dropped in that he was a Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Everton fan.

How on earth can you say you are a massive Liverpool fan and then say that you support Everton and Manchester United? There are massive rivalries between Liverpool and Manchester United and Liverpool and Everton, there is no possible way that you can be a Liverpool fan and also support those other teams.

If that isn’t a glory supporter I don’t know what is.

I don’t support any other team, I ONLY support Manchester United, I can understand if you support, say West Ham and also support your local Sunday team but I don’t have a local team so I can’t.

What do you think? Am I going totally over the top?

Any football fan who also has Sky TV will no doubt be aware of Jeff Stelling, host of an immensely popular and entertaining show dedicated to broadcasting a running commentary of all football-league action on Saturdays - a program unsuprisingly named Soccer Saturday.

Stelling has become a bit of a legend, but today it has been announced that he will be the next Countdown host - replacing Des O’Conner. Unfortunately Carol Voderman has also been replaced with a maths graduate called Rachel Riley. Many people believe that this will be the end of Jeff’s stint as host of Soccer Saturday, having to film a show which runs 5 days a week and then having to do Soccer Saturday and other Sky Sports commitments.

However it has been announced that Jeff Stelling will not be leaving Soccer Saturday - at least for now. If the Hartlepool-mad Jeff was ever to leave the show, who (if any) would be the best replacement? Feel free to leave your suggestions below…

Tomorrow the Premier League is back and I am getting used to more and more people coming up with the excuse that their team has the most injuries.

Today I have been searching to find out who really has the most injuries? Is it Manchester United? Is it Arsenal?

I can tell you that the club (right now) with the most player injuries is Chelsea with nine, players such as Lampard, Cech, Essien, J.Cole and Alex are injured.

Chelsea are closely followed by Manchester United who have 8 injuries- Berbatov, Ferdinand, Rooney, Brown, Hargreaves, Scholes and Fletcher are all injured.

The team with the least injuries is Aston Villa who only have one injury who is Bouma and he has a foot injury.

Here is the table of Premier League injuries thanks to PhysioRoom.com

Chelsea

Manchester United

Newcastle

Arsenal

Middlesbrough

Portsmouth

West Ham

Manchester City

Sunderland

Wigan

Blackburn

Bolton

Everton

Fulham

Hull

Liverpool

West Brom

Tottenham

Stoke

Aston Villa

Any surprises with the table? Personally I am suprised that Spurs have very few injuries.

An interesting story in todays newspapers - an understandably irate Arsene Wenger is considering demoting club captain William Gallas after the player admitted that a fight broke out during the half-time break in the 4-4 draw with local rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Gallas apparently refused to name one Arsenal player who it seems is constantly arguing with teammates and who started a fight with Theo Wallcott in the dressing room against Spurs. Gallas did however name that this player was 6 years younger then him - and some clever detective work leads to either Emmanuel Eboue, Bacary Sagna, and the tempermental Robin Van Persie. The Sun believes that it was RVP who fought with Theo on the day of the Spurs match.

It is believed that Gael Clichy and Cesc Fabregas are the next likely players to be named captain of the team, although I personally don’t feel that either of these would make good captains (although anyone is surely going to be better then Gallas). I feel that Arsenal lack a tough-tackling central midfielder, someone who can take hold of certain games and help to rally the team too - just like the role Patrick Vieira used to have.

The Club v Country row has surfaced again after Arsenal’s Theo Walcott dislocated his shoulder during England training. Arsenal are now wanting 200 thousand pounds in compensation.
Another player who was injured during International duty is Manchester United’s Dimitar Berbatov. It looks like Berbatov pulled his hamstring whilst playing for Bulgaria and he could miss United’s Premier League match against Aston Villa this Saturday.

It’s not only English football, which is suffering from the Club v Country row, but many other countries are including Scotland.
The Rangers boss Walter Smith claimed that Barry Ferguson wasn’t fit enough for a Scotland match but he was recalled to the squad.

I can understand why football club managers aren’t happy with International friendly matches being played during November when Leagues and the Champion’s League are getting into full swing and the last thing they need is their top players being injured in a friendly.

I can also see the other side of it, England manager Fabio Capello would have learnt a lot from last nights win over Germany and he will be able to hopefully take that to the next World Cup in South Africa.

This is one of the very few times that I am stuck on a fence when it comes to a football matter, I am a Manchester United fan and I am an English fan and I don’t think I could choose between Club and Country because they are both just as important to me.

I loved England’s win over Germany last night especially considering it was our reserve squad but if a Manchester United player had been seriously injured last night then I wouldn’t have been happy at all because it is a friendly.

Can you choose between your Club and Country, I would love to know your thoughts on this matter.

There is a short answer to my question and that is yes but I am going to explain to you exactly why I think England can beat Germany.

England may be without seven or eight first team players for the match tonight but the confidence that Capello is installing into the team then I think that we can beat them.

The only problem that I think we have tonight is that we are without players such as Gerrard, Rooney, Lampard and Heskey.

The good news is that England have never lost in Berlin. England have played seven matches in Berlin in which they won three and drew four.

The other good news is that it isn’t just England who are missing some of their stars- Germany are also without seven first choice players.

I think that by the end of tonight the new stats will be that England have never lost in Berlin- played eight, won three and drew five.

Over the past few matches I have seen an improvement in England and hopefully the players can provide the fans with an entertaining match and a good result.

Last year Germany did beat England but last year was a bad year for England and now with a top-notch coach I cannot see any reason why we cannot beat our bitter rivals tonight.

With all of the injured players that we have I will be happy with a draw, we are less likely to get a win because no matter what you say, we are missing world class players, what result are you predicting tonight?

Good to see Darren Bent revealing the magic ingredient of Harry Redknapp’s success at Spurs this week - talk to your players.

It might seem straight forward but according to Bent Juande Ramos spoke “about four words to me in two years” and I bet two of those were in Spanish.

However after a comforting word or two from Harry, against all the football odds Bent is banging the goals in - seven since Redknapp arrived in October including four in the Premier League to guide Spurs to 10 points from five games.

Bent said: “Harry has come in and installed belief into the players. A lot of good players were under-performing but he has told them they are fantastic players, put his arm around them and, as players, that is what you need. He has spoken to me more than Ramos did.

“It is simple management. I think sometimes we try to over-complicate it and look for too many answers as to why we were losing, whereas Harry just came in and said ‘This is how we are going to play, get used to it’.”

It’s certainly an approach that’s working for Redknapp, who cost Spurs a reported £5million in compensation. However surely they could have found someone cheaper to do a similar job - This Morning’s Agony Aunt Denise Robertson for example!
