What a night of footy it was and what a shock result coming out of London as the mighty Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Norwegian club Rosenborg.
Rosenborg – who had previously won just once in 19 Champions League encounters – opened the scoring through defender Mikka Koppinen and battled hard for the point in a game which Chelsea dominated from start to finish.
But despite Shevchenko’s equaliser – his first of the season but his 60th in European competition – and a spate of late chances, Jose Mourinho’s side were unable to kick off their campaign with victory in what was considered pre-match to be their easiest game of the group stage.
