Chelsea vs Spurs Preview

footy news blog

In this preview we will take a look at what is to come this weekend. We are still unsure who is in the running for the premier league title as we are only 12 games into the season. Before we see the clogged up fixtures of December we will see who sits atop of the premier league. One of the more interesting games from a neutral perspective this weekend is the clash of Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur which will be hosted at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are currently  sitting on top of the table as Spurs are positioned in 5th place but only 4 points behind their London rivals.

Chelsea have won their last 6 premier league games without even conceding a goal. With the help of players like Hazard and Diego Costa committing 17 goals between them they are a force to be reckoned with. They will miss John Terry through injury while Willian might make his way back into the squad.  Spurs however have only won 1 game in the last 5. Even with that in mind they still have the best defensive record only conceding 8 goals. They are also unbeaten in 12 games. Tottenham will be without Toby Alderweireld, Erik Lamela, Ben Davies and Danny Rose but will be relying on players such as Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son to get on the score sheet.

We have seen some clashes over the years between these two clubs but what jumps more to mind is the most recent years with battling feuds and confrontations. With players like Eric Dier and Diego Costa (pictured above) causing friction and a charged atmosphere, could we be in for an entertaining match up? Will Chelsea continue their run of good form or will Tottenham be victors on their rivals territory? Find out this Saturday at 17:30 P.M. GMT.
