Kick Off : 13:30 GMT
Venue : The Emirates, Arsenal

Blackburn Rovers head to The Emirates Stadium on Sunday lunchtime to face Arsenal with manager Arsene Wenger celebrating an impressive 13 years at the club.

Blackburn currently sit in 15th place in the league, picking up 7 points from 6 matches. Arsenal meanwhile are in 6th position with 12 points, and could rise up to joint 3rd position if they win their game in hand.

Arsenal have gone on a good run of form after the eventful 4-2 loss against Arsenal, winning 5 out of 5 matches. Blackburn come into this game on the back of a morale boosting 2-1 win against Aston Villa, and Sam Allardyce will be hoping to avoid defeat at The Emirates on Sunday.

Arsene Wenger is now the longest serving manager of Arsenal football club, the previous record being set by George Allison over 60 years ago. The Arsenal players and fans will be hoping to give the manager a reason to celebrate and there should be a good atmosphere at the game.

Arsenal vs Blackburn

Blackburn have only won twice so far this season, a stat they will be unlikely to change when they play Arsenal. Blackburn have lost on their last 6 trips to Arsenal’s home ground.

Theo Walcott makes a long-awaited return to the Arsenal squad and should be given a run-out at some point in the game. Striker Nicklas Bendtner also returns to the squad, having been out of the past few games after being involved in a car crash.

Eduardo will be unavailable with a thigh injury, and goalkeeper Manuel Almunia will still be out through a chest infection. Vito Mannone is set to continue in his place.

Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce has a few selection difficulties of his own with midfielder Vince Grella suspended following getting sent off against Aston Villa. Defensive paid Ryan Nelson and Chris Samba both face late fitness tests and could be named in the squad. Midfielder Steven Reid could return to the side after a lengthy spell out with injury.

I would expect Arsenal to easily see off the challenge of Blackburn Rovers at The Emirates on Sunday, with the only question being how long it takes them to get the breakthrough goal. Many sides come to Arsenal and just sit back, content to try and smother Arsenal from playing their passing game and to play on the counter attack. I will expect Blackburn to do no different under the guide of Sam Allardyce, but I would still expect Arsenal to win this one comfortably.

My Prediction: 4-0
