Blackburn Rovers will face a bruised and embattled Liverpool side at Ewood Park on Saturday 5th December, at 3:00 PM. Both teams will be fighting to take the three points in this match up. The Rovers have managed to climb their way up into the EPL table’s 12th spot, thanks mainly to their quite strong home record. However, interim boss Neil McDonald guided the side to their first away victory of the season against Bolton Wanderers on November 22. Sam Allardyce is likely to take his place back in the dugout following a heart surgery, but if he is not able to do so, McDonald will continue to be in charge of the squad.
Blackburn rovers have lost just once playing at home so far this season, a defeat that came at opening day against Manchester City. They will be looking to finish off Rafael Benitez’s men as they continue to fail on all fronts of their competitions. Rovers have some concerns over David Dunn who has been nursing a calf pain after being in fine form in recent weeks, the Lancashire side will be eager to have him fit and ready for battle.
The Carling Cup quarter-final success over Chelsea on penalties during midweek, showed that the Rovers are tough to beat on home ground.

Rafa Benitez’s has to deal now with a side out of the Champions League and 13 points off the leaders Chelsea in the English premier League.
Liverpool managed to beat Everton on Sunday; however they must continue winning all the games they can to follow a bitter period that yielded just one win league in ten matches before their victory to Goodison Park last weekend. Spaniard striker Fernando Torres is still struggling with his injury and it remains to be seen if he will part of the side. Ryan Babel (ankle) is likely to be out as he continues his rehabilitation program. During last season’s Premier League competition, Liverpool claimed all three points when they scored a 3-1 success against the Rovers. Xabi Alonso opened the scoring in the second half before Yossi Benayoun doubled the lead. A late Roque Santa Cruz goal gave Rovers some hope but England’s star midfielder Steven Gerrard wrapped up the triumph while both sides were playing well into stoppage time.
