Sunday, 8th November 2009
Kick Off : 16:00 GMT
Venue : Stamford Bridge, Chelsea

In probably the biggest game of the Premier League so far, and by far the most important, Chelsea play Man United at Stamford Bridge at 4pm.

Chelsea are at the top of the league and Manchester United are in joint-second place with Arsenal, both on 25 points, 2 points below the leaders Chelsea.

Both Chelsea and Man United are in quite mixed form, both sides drew in their last games which were in the Champions League. Chelsea drew 2-2 with Atletico Madrid in Spain, arguably a better result then Man Utd’s 3-3 draw at home with CSKA Moscow.

Although Chelsea won their last 2 league games 4-0 and 5-0, the game before was a loss against Villa. Manchester United meanwhile won against Blackburn 2-0 and lost 2-0 against Liverpool. It is evident that at home Chelsea have absolutely no trouble scoring, whilst Man United have been struggling for goals at times this season, and have also started conceeding plenty either with Rio Ferdinand out injured, or not quite playing to his best.

Chelsea will probably be favourites to win this game, simply due to their amazing form in front of goal, especially when compared to Man United’s likelyness to conceed poor goals.

Chelsea vs Man United

The winner of the Chelsea vs Man United match will probably be heralded as the team most likely to win the Premier League, despite the amount of games left to play, and so both Carlo Ancelotti and Sir Alex Ferguson will be desperate to at least not lose this game.

Manchester United could be without their first choice central defenders with Rio Ferdinand and Nemandja Vidic both likely to miss out. Wes Brown and Johnny Evans could be set to return at the heart of the defence, despite their bad performance against CSKA in midweek. Gary Neville is suspended so John O’Shea will play at right back for Man United. Ryan Giggs and Dmitar Berbatov should return to the squad after recovering in time from injury. Darren Fletcher is also likely to play in the Chelsea game despite not being completely fit.

Chelsea don’t appear to have many injury problems ahead of this massive game with Manchester United, with Joe Cole likely to move to the bench with Deco being given a starting position. Striker Nicolas Anelka is likely to return up front along side Didier Drogba after being rested in midweek against Atletico Madrid.

My Prediction: 2-2
