Liverpool make the long trip south to Fulham on the back of a massive 2-0 league win against Man United, although they were also knocked out of the Carling Cup a few days ago at the hands of Arsenal.
Rafa Benitez rested many of his star players for the game at Arsenal, and he will be likely to recall his best 11 for a tricky trip to London to face a decent Fulham side who come into this game on the back of an excellent 2-2 draw against Man City in the Premier League.
Benitez was under immense pressure before the win against United
but following the defeat to Arsenal in the cup he will have to pick up 3 points against Fulham if he is to keep the critics off his back again, and Fulham are a side that beat Liverpool at home the season before last.
Former Liverpool star Danny Murphy looks set to return from his injury to face his old club, but Fulham will be without their other star players Simon Davies and Andy Johnson. Fulham currently find themselves in 13th place in the league having played 9 matches, and a win here could take them up to 10th position.
Liverpool will have to take on Fulham without their own star man, Steven Gerrard, who is still struggling with a groin problem with some stating that he may need an operation to overcome the injury. Another top performer this season, Glen Johnson, will miss this game with a calf injury. Alberto Aquilani, fresh from his first team debut against Arsenal as a sub, will miss this game out with a virus.
