The match between Fulham and Man U will be played at Craven Cottage on Saturday, 19th December at 3:00 PM. Welshman Ryan Giggs, who was given a one-year contract extension on Friday, should be healthy from a hamstring strain.
Fulham striker Andrew Johnson will be out this weekend after suffering a setback in his recovery from a groin injury.
Additionally, Danny Murphy made his comeback from a similar injury in midweek and is likely expected to keep his spot in the squad. If the current EPL champions are to enjoy a relevant victory on Saturday, they must deal with a Fulham side that have made their best start to a tournament since 2003. Roy Hodgson’s squad are in ninth place and qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League, although this has not helped their domestic play. Fulham have did not win in six of their seven league matches when following a European game.
Then again, Fulham beat Manchester United at Craven Cottage last March with a Danny Murphy penalty and a 87th-minute goal from Zoltan Gera that ensured a 2-0 win still remembered today. Prior to that surprising defeat, Manchester United had been able to win nine successive league and cup matches against Fulham. The Red Devils were unbeaten in 12 meetings between both sides, this time around, Man U will find a Fulham unbeaten in four league games.
