This midweek EPL game will be played on Tuesday, 9th February, kick-off set for 7:45 PM in the City of Manchester Stadium. Italian Roberto Mancini’s side lost the game against 2-1 defeat at Hull City during the weekend. The loss leaves the citizens three points out of fourth place, but they have a chance to redeem themselves with the visit of Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday evening. City haven’t lost at home this season, a feat only matched by table leaders Chelsea and have won eight of their 11 games at home.

Roberto Mancini was not happy seeing his side fall to the Tigers, who stormed into a two-goal lead thanks to Jozy Altidore and George Boateng’s scores before Emmanuel Adebayor’s goal set up a frantic finale. But the Citizens failed to get back into the game and they now sit sixth in the Premier League table with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur just ahead of them. City new lad Patrick Vieira made his long-awaited debut and was able to receive a yellow card an showed little else.
City will be without Roque Santa Cruz, Micah Richards (both calf), Vincent Kompany (groin) and long-term injured Michael Johnson (knee) for this game.

Bolton reports that Croatian striker Ivan Klasnic is out with a calf complaint and knee victims Sean Davis and Joey O’Brien will be out of action too.

Owen Coyle’s Bolton only grabbed a goalless draw at home to Fulham but it could have been different if referee Mark Clattenburg hadn’t ruled out Kevin Davies’ last second header. There appeared to be very little contact inside the penalty area but the whistler disallowed the goal. The Trotters have a test on their hands if they are to get a positive result from their visit to the City of Manchester Stadium.

It is a difficult task against a tricky Manchester City squad. Bolton struggle in their attempt to survive relegation and they have a lot to worry about when they face a City who still hopes to end the season in a Champions League position. Bolton manager, Owen Coyle, is still trying to convince his club fans that he is the man to take the team to the next level and he should be concerned about the quality of opposition his side has to contend with this time, as City have some of the best strikers in the league.
