It’s now 3 games in charge and 3 points in the table for Roberto Martinez as his reign at Everton has seen 3 draws in as many games with the latest one being a drab 0-0 affair at the Cardiff City Stadium, where the Bluebirds are accumulating crucial points in their quest to stay up. The Cardiff fans were in full-voice again for their home side, who showed no signs of a setback following their historic 3-2 win over Man City last weekend. The match got off to a bit of a slow start with Cardiff having the first chance of the game courtesy of a Bo Kyung Kim strike that went wide of Tim Howard’s goal in the 9th minute. The Toffees were able to grow into the game as it went along with Kevin Mirallas managing to get off 2 headers in the opening half, although both of them failed to hit the target. The closest thing to a goal in the match probably occurred in first half stoppage time with Nikica Jelavic’s header redirecting off a Cardiff defender before being spectacularly parried away by David Marshall in the Cardiff goal. Cardiff had their best chances at goal through Craig Bellamy, with the former Liverpool, Manchester City, West Ham, Blackburn, Newcastle, (breathe) and Norwich man having both a free kick saved by and breakaway effort altered by Howard. In the end though, neither side deserved to or eventually won the game with Everton frustratingly claiming another point, something Cardiff will be all too happy with heading into the International break.
