Swansea City picked up their first points of the new campaign away at West Brom today, coming away with 3 of them to be exact following a dominating 2-0 win. The Welsh club were always in control of the fixture and keeper Michel Vorm had very little to do in the Swansea goal with West Brom failing to score for the 3rd straight game, leaving them bottom of the table with 0 goals for and 3 against. Swansea opened the scoring on 22 minutes through local boy Ben Davies with the young defender volleyed home into the top left corner of goal following a delightful ball in by Pablo Hernandez. Indeed there was nothing that Baggie keeper Boaz Myhill could do about the perfectly placed shot that extracted groans and boos from the impatient West Brom fans in attendance. Even the re-introduction of striker Nicolas Anelka (who was away on compassionate leave) couldn’t ignite the home side’s attack and the visitors polished off the game come the 83rd with Hernandez himself scoring a real sitter after having been set up on a platter by Michu, who finally got involved in the game this weekend. All in all it was a comfortable, reassuring win for Swansea while West Bromwich Albion have big, big questions ahead of them in the coming weeks.
