Carrow Road now has a new hero to fall in love with as 19 year old Nathan Redmond produced a stunning solo effort to single handedly defeat Southampton 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. It was a really even contest throughout with both sides having limited chances to open the scoring prior to Redmond’s 68th minute strike. In fact, Redmond’s goal was truly the first event of note in the match which had quite frankly been a bit of a snozzer before the alarm went off in the form of the young Englishman, who finagled his way to the edge of the box before drilling a low, hard strike past Atur Boruc in the Southampton goal. The Saints struggled to produce anything in response to the goal with both Ricky Lambert and club record signing Pablo Osvaldo having very poor games up front for the Saints (Once again screwing me over in fantasy EPL). Indeed for my money it was Osvaldo who was the worse of the two with the Italian only making it 78 minutes before he made way for Jay Rodriguez. The substitution proved to be a moot point though as the Saints still succumbed to Norwich on the day as the Canaries snatched their first win of the year.
