I don’t quite know what’s going on behind the scenes at Old Trafford, specifically I don’t understand how they can ever expect to sign Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini for £28 million in a joint deal.
Perhaps the bid was a move to unsettle the pair before the close of the transfer window, but either way it appears that the club haven’t really showed Everton any mercy, or dignity, on offering such a small amount. Fellaini recently signed a new contract which meant his minimum release clause will have expired, so it’s unlikely Everton would sell him now for any less than £25 million. And Baines alone in my opinion is worth at least £15 million.
So far United seem to have had a pretty miserable time of it in the transfer window, and if this bid is to be believed now then things aren’t exactly going to get any better anytime soon.
