Today’s FootyBlog fact of the day – Cardiff winger and scouser Craig Noone started his career in non-league football, while making a living as a roofer. In 2008, he tiled a roof extension on Steven Gerrard’s house.
Over the next few years Noone rose through the ranks playing for Southport, Plymouth Argyle and eventually Brighton. And so it came to be that in 2011 he played against none other than Steven Gerrard in a League Cup match against his boyhood club.
Gerrard noted in his post-match interview that Noone played fantastic, and that he did a great job on his roof.

Another fact at the same time tomorrow!
