This Champions League exciting game between Inter Milan and Chelsea will be played at the San Siro (Giuseppe Meazza) on Wednesday 24th February, kick-off set for 7:45 PM. José Mourinho claims to have inside knowledge but he also says that this does not hand any advantage to his current side, Inter. Indeed it could be more difficult because when the coach knows so much about the other team, to decide about the right information to give to the players is quite relevant because if not it may ultimately become a distraction.

Despite his reputation in his time at Chelsea for leading squads capable of grinding out low-scoring victories, Mourinho does not expect a close game on Wednesday. He shows pride because of his past with Chelsea a team who entered the pitch not to defend, or not to win, or to play for a 0-0, as he puts it. Inter are the same in theory, although lately they have not been able to score many goals.
Inter’s Goalkeeper Julio Cesar was involved in a car accident on Sunday and remains a doubt for the match. Veteran Francesco Toldo would be the eventual replacement.

Chelsea has confirmed that Frank Lampard will be available for the game. But Yury Zhirkov has joined Bosingwa, Michael Essien, Deco and Ashley Cole on the sidelines.

Chelsea may have won at Wolves during the weekend but they were not overly impressive in doing so. Defensively they again looked vulnerable which will worry Carlo Ancelotti ahead of this important challenge. Apart from a superb performance at the Emirates against the Gunners, Chelsea have not played a great football this season. That comment may sound excessive and inaccurate seeing that they are top of the English Premier League table, but with the players they have in their lineup they could have had the title almost secured up by now.

Obviously nobody can completely write-off Chelsea at the San Siro as they have many top players in their squad who are capable of turning a game around. If it isn’t Didier Drogba pushing forward then there’s Nicolas Anelka, Frank Lampard or Michael Ballack amongst others who can provide something special on the pitch. They certainly are well capable of getting a goal anywhere, anytime, but this could be a good time for Inter to face Chelsea and the Italians will look to dominate this leg from the first minute of the match.
