Kick Off : 12:05 GMT
Venue : Ibrox Park, Glasgow – UK

This quarter final game for the Scottish Cup features Rangers against Dundee United and it will be played on Sunday 14th March at Ibrox Park, kick off set for 12:05 PM. Rangers currently sit 13 points ahead of the second place at the top of the Scottish Premier League, following their victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. The side will now take a two week break from SPL obligations as they get ready for Scottish Cup quarter final action against Dundee United and of course the League Cup final game against St Mirren.

Rangers were able to overcome St Mirren in the last round of the Scottish Cup thanks to a late Kris Boyd goal. The last time Dundee United visited Ibrox they were utterly destroyed by an impressive Rangers team who beat them seven to one. However, this game promises to be a more open affair as Dundee United will play attacking football as they look to amend for their recent hammering by the Gers.
Rangers reports that Madjid Bougherra should be back for this fixture after missing the past two games due to a hamstring injury. Kirk Broadfoot will be out.

Rangers Vs Dundee United

The embarrassing 7-1 win defeat against Rangers back in December will still be in the minds of the players who will be eager to erase that memory. Currently third place in the SPL, United have continued working despite the loss of Craig Levein, with manager Peter Houston leading the side on a run of just 2 defeats in 12 matches. The team has also brought the return to top form of forgotten defender Andy Webster, as well as bringing to the first squad youth players such as Paul Dixon and the striker David Goodwillie.

However Rangers are in superb form at the moment, despite all the financial problems and should be too strong for them. The club has not lost a domestic game since last November. Both clubs have only met twice in the cup in the last twenty years. The last meeting between the two sides was back in 2001 when a David Hannah goal gave United a shock 1-0 victory over Dick Advocaat’s famed team who lost the treble that season to traditional rivals Celtic.

My prediction: 3-1
