Real Madrid’s Raul has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer and his friendship with Rafa Benitez who was youth coach at Real Madrid during Raul’s earlier years may be the key if the Spaniard leaves the club he has played for since he was 17-years-old.
Raul’s best friend Fernando Morientes has already had a crack at the english game but he was rather unsucessfull.”When there are defeats there are always many rumours but the only thing I am concerned about is the club,” Raul told Real Madrid TV on Saturday.
Already with the likes of Crouch, Bellamy and Kuyt on the team it would mean one of the three will have to go to make way for the Real Madrid captain and it will most likely be Peter Crouch who has been rumoured of making a move to Tyneside.Raul’s massive wage and transfer fees may also see some other frimge players leaving the club.
I personally think Benitez has lost the plot with his method of tinkering and not playing Crouch regularly and even turning the English club to a Spanish armada.
Any club wanting to buy him in the summer would probably have to put at least 18 million euros on the table.
They would also have to match Raul´s current wages, which are believed to be six million euros a year.
