Just thought I’d stop by and shed some more light on why Lyon is hoarding their money. They plan to build their own stadium – using mostly their own capital – by 2010. Aulas is able to do this because he never has to use the money in the bank to fund transfers since he can cover that money with the players he sells.

And as another poster said, Lyon’s wage bill eats up a higher percentage of expenses than at the bigger clubs like MU and Real, so there is that as well.

Unfortunately with taxes taking away 50% of players salaries Lyon would have to pay ridiculous money in wages if they buy world class players. But fortunately they have enough money…:)
