The beat went on for Arsenal on Saturday evening as they saw off Swansea City 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium to stay top of the premier League with 15 points to their name. The match started out dryly and it was an admittedly poor start to the match with neither side truly grabbing the game by the horns at the result was a dull first half and a 0-0 score at halftime. Arsene Wenger seemed to work a bit of magic during the 15 minute break though and Arsenal appeared a rejuvenated side come the second half, opening the scoring on 58 minutes through youngster Serge Gnabry’s low strike after he was set up on a platter by Aaron Ramsey. The Gunners doubled their delight only 4 minutes later as Ramsey continued his recent scoring streak by smashing one into the top right corner past a hapless Michele Vorm to give Arsenal a needed insurance goal. The insurance goal would be needed because on 81 minutes, Ben Davies got a goal back for the Swans as he used his knee to prod past Wojciech Szczesny after being set up by a Wilfried Bony cross. The match featured a couple of tense moments down the stretch with Michu and company trying desperately to get Swansea a late equalizer, but it didn’t come in time as Arsenal rolled out with the 3 points and continued grip on the league.
