After what seems like weeks of speculation linking Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the Premier League, and in particular Manchester United, the big Swede has confirmed that his next destination will be Manchester United.

The recently retired ex-Sweden Captain released a statement on his social media accounts with the Manchester United badge, stating that the time had come to let the world know.

The transfer is still subject to a medical, which is due to take place next week.

The 34 year old will link up again with Jose Mourinho, who managed him during his time at Inter Milan several years ago. Ibrahimovic would become Manchester United’s second signing of the summer after the signing of Villarreal centre back Eric Bailly, whilst negotiations are ongoing to sign Borussia Dortmund Playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The transfer makes the Premier League Zlatan’s Fifth major European League he has played in, after spells in Holland, Italy, Spain and France. He has also won the League Title in each of the countries he has played in, which could bode well for Manchester United fans.

However, it is not just Manchester United fans that are likely to be excited by this transfer, fans of most teams will most likely be extremly keen to see how one of the most talented players in world Football does in the Premier League. At 34, he may be slightly past his peak, but he had the most successful season of his career last year, showing that Zlatan still has plenty in the tank.
