Barton went on to make the obvious usual statements such as “Perhaps I shouldn’t say it, but I’m maybe a little too intelligent to be a footballer”. He tweeted since the incident that as he can’t speak French he decided to carry it out in the voice of an Allo Allo character, before going on to tweet that he has named his new language “Bartonese”.
