La Liga is hot again

footy news blog

la liga logo The 25th round of the 2007-2008 La Liga season was a benefit for the football spectacle. The gap between the leaders Real Madrid and second placed Barcelona has now shrunk to 2 points and this is great news for the football fans. It assures a dramatic last part of the season in the Primera Division and everyone is delighted, except for sure the Real Madrid fans who saw their team from huge favourites on defending their La Liga title, to huge favourites to lose the title.

Real Madrid travel a black period this days. Their defeat yesterday 0-1 at home against Getafe was their third defeat in a row in a week. First they lost against Betis Sevilla a week ago, after that they lost in Rome against AS Roma in the Champions League and now against Getafe, the ex-team of Bernd Schuster, the actual Real Madrid coach. But if this situation will extend, Schuster might easily become ex-manager for Real Madrid too.

Barcelona actually found their rhythm only in their Champions League game against Rangers on Wednesday. The Catalans also won previously in the La Liga against Real Zaragoza, but that one was lucky. Barcelona demolished yesterday Levante with 5-1 and Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry and Samuel Eto’o seem to be able to send Barca to the top of the La Liga.

Follow the live online football of the last part of the La Liga season as I am sure that it will be a dramatic end of the season with Barcelona and Real Madrid still yet to play against each other at the Santiago Bernabeu.
