Malky Mackay Sacked

In inevitable news on Friday, Cardiff owner Vincent Tan sacked manager Malky Mackay following a poor run of form for the Bluebirds coupled with recent squabbling between the Malaysian owner and Scottish manager.

Mackay had been the head man at Cardiff since the Summer of 2011, leading the Welsh side to the League Cup final in 2012, where they fell to Liverpool 3-2 on penalties. More recently, Mackay won the Championship title with Cardiff City last year, ensuring their first-ever season in the Premier League, where they currently sit in 16th place on 17 points, just 1 point clear of the relegation zone.

Cardiff’s next match is tonight’s evening clash at home against fellow relegation strugglers Sunderland, a pivotal game for both sides that will be shown as the only evening fixture at 5:30pm London time.
