Mark Hughes, the favourite for the QPR vacancy since Neil Warnock’s sacking, has expectedly been appointed as their new manager today. I think Hughes is a very good manager, he gets teams well organised and disciplined, but I’m not convinced he’ll be able to get the best out of players like Joey Barton and Adel Taraabt. I may be wrong, and hopefully so, but I can’t see them performing to the best of their ability for him.
He’s joined QPR on a 2 and a half year deal, so not a very lengthy contract, with his newly inherited side 17th in the Premier League, just one place above the drop zone, and 1 point clear of nearest club Bolton. He’ll have a huge task on his hands if he is to lead the club to safety.
Personally I really rated the job that Neil Warnock had been doing at the club, by gaining them promotion and in the way he’s carried himself with the media etc. He always seems a very honest and interesting guy to watch, and I think its very unfair that he was sacked.

With regards to Taarabt and Barton, Hughes has tremendous man management skills so I do think he will get the best out of these 2 players – he managed to do it with Craig Bellamy!!
