My African Dream Team

footy news blog

The African Cup of Nations is gearing up to entertain us and what a show it promises to be, just don’t tell that to Avram Grant and Harry Redknapp.Anywayz my friend Justin and I were having a discussion on what a superb team it would be if all of Africa united and played as one single team, that prospect sounds so scary and superb at the same time and it got me thinking on who would be my pick to be in the so call “African United”, so here are my pick of players if such a team exists:

Starting 11

GoalKeeper : Souleymanou Hamidou (Cameroon)

Defenders:

: Emmanuel Eboué (Ivory Coast)

: Kolo Touré (Ivory Coast)

: John Mensah (Ghana)

: Joseph Yobo (Nigeria)

Midfield

: Michael Essien (Ghana)

: Didier Zakora (Ivory Coast)

: Ahmed Hassan (Egypt)

: Sulley Ali Muntari (Ghana)

Strikers

: Samuel Eto’o (Cameroon)

: Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast)

Substitutes

GK: Richard Kingson (Ghana) , Vincent Enyeama (Nigeria)

DF: Ibrahima Sonko (Senegal), Danny Shittu (Nigeria) , Radhi Jaidi (Tunisia)

MF: Yaya Touré (Ivory Coast), John Utaka & John Obi Mikel (Nigeria), Mohamed Aboutreika (Egypt)

ST: Obafemi Martins (Nigeria), Benjani (Zimbabwe), Mamadou Niang (Senegal), Salomon Kalou (Ivory Coast)

So this is my choice of AFrican players in a dream team, what about you? what would your team look like?
