Chelsea travel to the Nou Camp for the second leg of this Champions League semi-final in what is sure to be a memorable clash. Chelsea lead Barcelona 1-0 thanks to a great goal from Didier Drogba last week at Stamford Bridge. They’ll need to be able to repeat this performance, and again have luck on their side when they face a hurting Barcelona team who have just been beaten by Real Madrid in La Liga to effectively end their chances of clawing back the league.

Thankfully you can now watch Barcelona vs Chelsea online and you can understand why so many people would like to do so – this is sure to be a huge match, and the fans of Barcelona will be desperate to erase the memory of the weekends loss by Madrid. If Chelsea are to immitate Real’s game plan then I’m sure they will have a great chance of knocking out the favourites for the competition.

Barcelona are still odds on to beat Chelsea and reach the final of the Champions League, but following their performance against Madrid I wouldn’t be so certain. Defensively they were very, very poor, with Victor Valdes at fault for Ronaldo’s winning goal. The first goal was another piece of bad defending, with a player dwelling on the ball in front of their goal when he should have cleared.

Madrid resorted to a fair amount of time wasting and play acting, and in the Barcelona vs Chelsea match if the English team want to win they will need to resort to playing dirty too. They will need to contest every decision, fall at every touch, and waste as much time as possible. Of course this is not a nice way to play football, and its not something done by English teams much, but I feel that if they want to get any further in the competition then they’ll need to adopt these sorts of tactics – you simply can’t go to the Nou Camp and play football against Barcelona as there’ll only be one winner.

Surprisingly the referee allocated to this game has never taken charge of a knock-out match like this before, and Cuneyt Cakir, a 35 year old Turkish referee, will need to be able to handle the pressure in this Barcelona vs Chelsea match.
