On Tuesday night Arsenal travel to Scottish giants Celtic in the Champions League play off for a place in the group stage of this years competition.
Arsenal kicked off their new season in incredible style when they demolished a poor Everton side 6-1 at Goodison Park, whilst Celtic also put in an impressive performance under their new manager Tony Mowbray, beating Aberdeen 3-1 also away from home.
Celtic were already cursing their luck after being drawn to play Arsenal in the play offs for a place in the Champions League, considering the other teams that they could have been drawn against (apart from maybe Athletico Madrid), and after watching Arsenal destory Everton then Celtic will hardly be relishing the visit of the Gunners for this big European match.
This will be the first leg of the play off match with Arsenal hosting Celtic on the 25/26th of August in the return leg. It will take a huge perfomance by Celtic’s defense if they are to stop Arsenal scoring any away goals, with the likes of Arshavin, Bentdner and Eduardo all looking on top form.
This match has the potential to be another exciting and special European encounter at Celtic Park with two teams showing great form in their opening League games. Arsenal will be the favourites to beat Celtic away from the Emirates stadium, but Celtic will be determined to perform well under new boss Tony Mowbray.
