So Denmark find themselves in the difficult situation of needing to gain a win or a draw against Germany and to also hope that other results go their way – namely for Holland to beat Portugal. It could get a bit more complicated than this but this is the general gist.
Another upset could be on the hands here tonight, although perhaps not quite on the scale as last night’s shock Russia/Poland departure from the competition. Germany are likely to go through regardless of tonights events, but they too could be in trouble if some crazy goal difference changes take place in the games.
Denmark so far in this tournament have been underwhelming, apart of course from their shock win against Holland – who’ve outrageously under-performed so far, and could tonight leave the competition despite being many people’s favourites. Danish star Eriksen has failed to live up to much of the hype surrounding the youngster. They’re likely to struggle against a very professional, well organised and powerful German team.
Lets hope that the Denmark vs Germany match is a good one, although my attention may be quite diverted by the action thats likely to unfold in the Portugal vs Holland game…
