In what is shaping up to be an epic battle in the Euro 2012 competition, Holland face Germany in a battle for survival in group B which has been blown open with Portugal beating Denmark by 3 goals to 2 just a few moments ago.
This means that Holland are bottom of the group having lost their first game to Denmark 1-0, a shock result, and with Portugal winning today and Germany winning their opening game against Portugal 1-0 then Holland need to win here tonight to avoid facing an embarrasing early exit from the Euro’s.
Germany on the other hand will want to win to top the group and enable an easier 2nd phase fixture against the runner up of group A. Rumours had circulated stating that Klose will set to start up front in place of the lacklustre Gomez but this appears to be untrue with Gomez partnering Podolski again in this match.
With Holland it looks like the same 11 are set to face Germany as in their opening game with Denmark, apart with the addition of the previously injured Mathijsen.
Holland vs Germany is sure to be a great match between two nations with a history of fierce rivalry, and I’d fancy both teams to score in this match so lets hope for a fast-paced entertaining game with the talent that is on show!
