Weekly football quiz is an app developed by a team known as “We Love Beards”. A great name, and also a great little app too.
Costing nothing for the free version, but with a paid upgrade available to remove the adverts, the weekly footy quiz app, as suggests, tests you on the weekly football activity. By allowing the app to connect to the Internet and download updates you will be able to answer the latest questions on football.
Thankfully the app connects to download the updates when available, but you can also choose to update it by pressing the update button on the home screen within the app. Without this feature its probably fair to say that you’d get bored pretty easily – unless the developers were to update the software so that there were hundreds of questions and answers to choose from, its likely that you’d soon get bored of seeing the same questions over and over. Luckily now you can answer questions on topical football subjects, so it really does test you on your ability to stay up to date with the game.
Graphics and the suchlike are smart and polished in this app, and the menu’s and buttons are all simple to use and intuitive. On some occasions, when you get a very long question, its a bit annoying having to scroll down to view the possible answers. Answers are all multiple choice by the way, so even if you don’t have a clue as to the answer you can still hazard a guess. A high score chart is another nice feature, and you can also get access to cheats if you’re that kind of a person.
Possible improvements to the app could involve featuring photos or videos within the questions, making them a little more exciting than simply text. There are about 50 questions to answer on each update, and it can seem quite a lengthy process. I guess this keeps the hardcore fan happy, but other fair-weather football fans might get a bit overwhelmed by the never-ending interrogation.
Another great feature would be if the app could feature a certain team, so for example if you’re a Man City fan then it’d be nice to answer questions just based on City – you’re more likely to keep up to date with it this way, plus its a good way to learn anything you may have missed about your beloved side.
Overall this app is great fun, and as its free it really is hard to complain about anything. Questions are tricky, but not impossible, and most football fans would get above average answer scores. Highly recommended – give it a go today and let us know what you think!
