Eden Hazard Joins Chelsea

After a lot of fanfare and puffs of smoke, it appears that Eden Hazard has decided to put everyone out of their boredom/misery and has announced that he will be signing for Chelsea next season – ditching the offers from both Manchester clubs.

Hazard seems to have really enjoyed the limelight in recent weeks, going on to Twitter to announce that he will be announcing his decision regarding his future later, only to leave everyone guessing, before leaving more cryptic clues a few days later. Just this morning he went on his Twitter account to state that he’s finally decided which of the 3 Premier League clubs he will be joining, and it now seems certain that his destination will be the European champions Chelsea.

If Hazard does join Chelsea it will be a huge slap in the face of both Mancini and Ferguson. No-one really seemed to believe that Chelsea could persuade the 21 year old to sign for them, with City’s huge financial lure and Premier League trophy not enough to tempt him to the Etihad stadium. Meanwhile Man United were hoping that they could proove that they still mean business, that they still have enough to tempt the top players to their club – maybe this isn’t the case anymore.

The fee for Hazard from Lille is likely to be around £32 million. He is believed to be demanding wages of around £200,000 per week – surprisingly, something which seems to have put City off the players signature.

Whatever happens comes the beginning of the 2012/2013 season, it seems certain that it will definitely be at least a 3 horse race this time around, with Chelsea, Man City and Man United all looking to add to their haul of Premier League trophies.
