How Carlos Tevez got his Neck Scars

Ever wondered exactly how Carlos Tevez got his neck scars? You’re unlikely to be the first. According to Wikipedia, Tevez was accidentally burned with boiling water as a young child. The distinctive scars run from his neck down to his chest. The third degree burns that he received kept him in hospital, in intensive care, for almost 2 months.

When Tevez was signed by Boca Juniors he was offered the chance by the medic team to have the scars improved, cosmetically, through surgery, but Carlos refused stating that they were a part of him and they came to belong to the Argentine, making him the person he is today.

Although christened Carlos Alberto Martinez, his surname was changed by his mother during a conflict between Boca Juniors and All Boys. You can view some of the photos of his neck scars below this article.

So now you know – the real reason how Carlos Tevez got his neck scars. It’s safe to say that he’s been one of the most determined and hard-working Premier League footballers of recent years, and it doesn’t look as if he’s ever tried to cover up or hide the scars from anyone – and we say fair play to him for doing so.
