Jack Wilshere almost in tears

arsenal vs bayern munich

its doubtful Jack Wilshere is the only Gunner feeling this way at the moment with an emotional response to the interviewers questions following Arsenal‘s hugely disappointing 3-1 loss at home to Bayern Munich last night in the Champions League.

The German side dominated the game throughout, and if they hadn’t gifted Podolski with a goal things could have been a lot worse for the second leg match in a few weeks time.

Arsenal were again poor defensively, but even their talented attack couldn’t force a way through a well organised German side. Bayern looked stronger in just about every area of the pitch, keeping Arsenal’s chances to a minimum.

To me, an occasional watcher of Arsenal, I believe its unfair to point the finger at Arsene. Perhaps some additions have been bad choices (Mertesacker is one name which springs to mind) but at the end of the day he’s got 11 international players on the pitch and they should be putting in a bigger performance then they currently are.

I think the negativity of the fans can hinder the side a lot of the time, but last night they sounded in good voice even despite being 2 goals down. It’s now up for the players to play for the manager, and if they think so highly of him then they need to work hard and do something about it – else they risk losing one of the most talented managers around.
