Liverpool Transfer Rumors

By now it’s common knowledge that Liverpool is hoping to sign Mario Gotze this summer. The midfielder is obviously unhappy with the Bundesliga champions and is more than happy to move to Anfield to reunite with Liverpool boss Klopp.

However, that being said, you may not know that Liverpool has allegedly already started negotiations and are said to be the front-runners to obtain Gotze as soon as the summer transfer windows open.

Kike Marin, a journalist from El Confidencial caused a frenzy by tweeting that the Reds have already begun making moves for Gotze.

Football insider reported that Liverpool could potentially grab Gotze for a reduced transfer fee of £20 million. They went on to explain that his contract with Munich was initially valued at approximately £50 million by Bundesliga.

Robert-Lewandowski-and-Mario-Gotze

According to Liverpool Echo, Gotze’s team-mate Robert Lewandowski, has told him to reject the transfer to Liverpool this summer, calling the supposed move ‘silly’ and that he should fight for his place at Bayern. He commented “Mario proved during the international break that he is always capable of showing what he can do and that he is a great player… he does not need this extra pressure.”

The reds will be trying to make the most of Lewandowski failure to come to an agreement at the Allianz Arena. This season Lewandowski has scored 25 goals in 27 games for Bayern Munich. Liverpool should definitely go all out to get him as he is precisely the kind of player they need at the moment if they want to return to and participate in the Champion League.

Meanwhile, Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is not too fussed concerning the Polish international’s agreement scenario with the club. He told ESPN FC “I won’t comment on contracts because we are not joining the agent’s game. Looking at the contracts lengths, we can look to the future relaxed”.
