Some footballers *cough* David Beckham *cough* reach their peak early and fade out of the limelight in their early 30’s.However there are some exceptions like Roger Milla,Teddy Sheringham, etc.
Now a new name can be added to that list – Romario, yup the 1994 Brazillian World Cup hero who pleaded with Scolari to include him in the 2002 tournament.
The very veteran Romario is set to sign for Adelaide United in the Australian A-League and still harbours hopes of scoring the magical 1000 goals in his career.
“He wants to accept the deal,” said Romario’s father, Edevair.
“He’s very keen to play in Australia’s top league and wants Adelaide to help him get closer to his 1000th goal.”
The player also revealed he had been in discussions with Adelaide’s current Brazilian star Fernando Rech over the proposed move.
“Fernando told me to come to paradise and not to think twice about coming to Adelaide,” admitted Romario.
“I only hear good things about Adelaide.
