Scouting Report: Arsenal

After their loss to Liverpool in their opening game, Arsene Wenger has finally set his eyes on the players we wants to see at Arsenal.

1 – Shkodran Mustafi: The player currently has a £40 million release clause at his current club Valencia but it’s believed that Valencia is willing to accept a bid at a region of £30 million due to financial problems. The centre-back has been gaining a lot of praise from both Germany and Spain, and even started for Germany in the Euros this summer.

2 – Omer Toprak: An alternative to Mustafi is Toprak, the Turkish international has also been impressive in Germany at Bayer 04 Leverkusen but seems to be looking for a new destination and if the money is right, Leverkusen will look to sell him. He hasn’t played for the Turkish international team because of a problem he had with coach Fatih Terim and player Gokhan Tore who recently joined West Ham on loan, but the problems seems to have been resolved.

3 – The last alternative is Simon Kjaer. The Danish centre-back currently plays for Turkish giants Fenerbahce and was selected as the best defender in the Turkish League. Fenerbahce isn’t looking to sell their best defender but are willing to accept a bid of £20 million for the fan favourite. This is due to Fenerbahce’s financial problems with UEFA, and Kjaer is the cheapest option for Arsenal. The player also seems happy to move to the London club if the two clubs come to an agreement.

It seems certain that Wenger will bring a defender, it’s just a matter of who and when.
