UEFA have launched an investigation into the conduct of Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, who appeared to punch a Serbia player at the end of the countries’ 1-1 Euro 2008 qualifying draw.Scolari threw a punch at Ivica Dragutinovic amid chaotic scenes of confrontation after the final whistle, but did not appear to make strong contact.
“UEFA has opened an investigation into events at the end of the UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying Group A match between Portugal and Serbia in Lisbon,” said a statement from European football’s governing body.
Portugal’s federation said it would open an immediate inquiry.
