In a bid to add a bright playmaker to a new-look Manchester United midfielder, Jose Mourinho will reportedly offer £70 million for Marco Verratti.
According to an Italian publication, Corriere dello Sport provided some details: “it is claimed that united target Zlayan lbrahimovic wants PSG pal Verratti to join him at Old Trafford. However, PSG chiefs intend to keep hold of the Italy international.”
The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder plays between the lines with a varied range of passing along with polished technique, therefore, it’s no wonder PSG want to keep the 23-year-old in the fold.
Since Mourinho’s takeover of Old Trafford, Verratti isn’t the first midfielder to be linked with a move to United this summer. The Manchester Evening News reported how the 53-year-old coach wanted Miralem Pjanic.
However, according to Italian sources Tuttosport and La Gazzetta dello Sport, it looks like the AS Roma star is set to switch to Serie A Champions Juventus instead.
In spite of the large fee, Verratti could be the young creator Mourinho needs to start his makeover of United’s midfield.
